  • Sri Lanka started the match on the right note, getting Virender Sehwag in the first over.
  • Soon after Gambhir was run-out, found short of his crease after colliding with the bowler.
  • Though Gambhir was upset, he couldn't blame the bowler for an unfortunate error.
  • Tendulkar was still there at one end, and he was joined by young Virat Kohli.
  • Kohli kept a cool head and built a partnership with Tendulkar.
  • Tendulkar was playing his shots and looking in good nick.
  • However he tried one shot too many and fell to Ajantha Mendis.
  • Mendis had out-foxed Tendulkar and had every reason to feel pleased with the wicket.
  • Kohli reached a well made 50.
  • However, he couldn't carry on from there and fell soon after.
  • It was left to Dhoni and Raina to salvage the innings.
  • They did this in style, with Raina hitting his stride early.
  • Dhoni opened up after reaching his 50.
  • Raina and Dhoni put on a century partnership at better than a run-a-ball.
  • Raina too reached his fifty, and eventually made 68 off 55 balls before falling.
  • Dhoni continued to go strong and reached his 6th ODI century.
  • He fell in the final over, that was bowled by debutant Suraj Randiv. Randiv was impressive and picked up 3 wickets.
  • However, Dhoni had ensured with his 107 (111 balls) that India crossed 300, ending up at 301/7.
  • Dilshan led the Sri Lankan reply in customary style, smashing the bowling.
  • Dilshan reached his fifty off just 31 balls.
  • The openers put on 102 at double quick time before India got a breakthrough. They were then gifted the wicket of Sangakkara who was run-out due to a mix up with Dilshan.
  • Dilshan continued to go strong though, and reached his 2nd successive century off 91 balls to keep Sri Lanka on course.
  • Dilshan took Sri Lanka beyond 200 in the company of Mahela Jayawardene.
  • However, he fell to a beautiful yorker by Ashish Nehra for 123 off 113 balls.
  • Zaheer Khan then got Mahela Jayawardene to tilt the scales back in India's favour.
  • Zaheer's ninth over saw him bag two wickets, which left Sri Lanka needing 35 off the final 5 overs.
  • This time though, they didn't choke as Angelo Mathews cracked 37 not out off 25 balls to take Sri Lanka to a 3-wicket win with 5 balls to spare. Sri Lanka thus levelled the series 1-1.
